How To Screw The Patriarchy... Properly

Let’s face it. We’re living in a men’s world even if we’re being made to believe otherwise. Everywhere you turn, there is some kind of gender bias looming around us– schools, work, social events all mostly inclined towards the men.

That’s were patriarchy stems from.

Men wanting dominance and power.

And wanting women to remain boxed.

We are made to believe that men are meant to rule, to stay in the spotlight. To dominate and I call bullshit. The war to bring an end to this charade called patriarchy has been going on for decades. It’s a never ending battle.

But in short and as a matter of fact. Screwing the patriarchy is not by one big act, but by living in defiance to the bullshit restrictions and rules they set for us.

The following are ways to fight the patriarchy and piss them off while doing it.

Make Them Fear You

Let me let you in on a little secret. Toxic men feed on our fear and use it to their advantage. That’s why they are manipulative. The patriarchy teaches us that power is dangerous. But we must be what they made us fear. We must become powerful women. Women that are not afraid to speak up, or to be loud. Outsmart them in wits. Give them back to back.

DO NOT Let Them Shrink You

We are made to believe that being invisible in this world leads to a peaceful life. But honestly, peace is in this day age and is overrated but we’ll talk bout that some other time. Every time we choose to shrink ourselves to let the men have their ways because we don’t want to be too much, we hand over more power to them. To screw the patriarchy is to take up space without thinking about -- without apology

Not in the office, relationships, not in a conversation. Your presence itself is resistance.

Challenge Double Stamdards

These men survive on double standards. Ambitious men are the worthy ones but women should not try to be ambitious. They just need to be obedient. It applauds the men for owning the room but chastises women for doing the same. It excuses men’s mistake asbeing “human” while women’s is anything but.

For example, two consenting adults decide to get intimate with each other. The woman is likely blamed for sinning while the man would get a pat in the bag for being a true man. So to fight this patriarchy, we must fight these double standards. Ask the uncomfortable questions. Challenge them.

Celebrate Female Pleasure

Patriarchy fears women who knows their bodies. Who choose joy and claim plasure without joy. For far too long, desire has been written in men’s story, while we were told to be grateful for crumbs.

Celebrate women’s pleasure, seek it and own it .

And of course this is the most important. The patriarchy thrives when women depends on men to survive. They thrive when women asks and are so smug about it.That’s why financial independence in a rebellion. Earn your own. Bulid your own. Get that bag. The system would crumble when there’s no woman to seek their permission or to provide for.

And lastly, all the system out on their bullshit. Always. Their gas-lighting, condescension, guiltripping-- everything. Truth is the one thing the system cannot survive on. To screw the patriarchy is not a day job but like they say, Rome wasn't built in a day.

The mere act of stepping up. Being loud is act of rebellion. This is the twenty first century for God's sake. The patriarchy should be abolished already by now but sadly, the advancement in time has nothing on them so we must teach them. So fuck it. Screw it. And make it go away.
